Hello and Namaste,
I am a writer/translator and alumna of Fergusson College, Pune. I did my Bachelors in Economics (first class with distinction) but decided to pursue my passion for writing. I have translated ''Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj: Biography and Learning; What to Know? What to Learn?,' a didactic biography of the legendary Maratha King published in August 2018 by Vishwakarma Publications, Pune. I have also translated ''Bajirao Peshwa: Invincible Strategist of the 18th Century; What to know? What to Learn?,' describing the illustrious career of the cavalry general and Prime Minister of the Maratha Empire published in April 2022 by Vishwakarma Publications, Pune. Both the books are available in bookstores and e-commerce websites such as Amazon, Flipkart, Bookganga or Vishwarkarma Publications in regular paperback and/or Kindle formats. My third and upcoming book tentatively titled 'American... more Vignettes' is a compilation of essays about the contemporary history and culture of the United States of America. My fourth, currently in the pipeline has similar evocative essays about the Indian Himalayas infused with the ebbs and flows of the discerning traveler. I have played tennis at the tournament level and fairly trained in 'Sugam Sangeet' and some Indian Classical music too. As you may have surmised, I love immersing in culture and exploration, and thoroughly enjoy researching, deliberating and discussing my books at hand. At the same time, I like being out and about in creative pursuits, health/fitness goals and tending to routine stuff. At the core, I am a friendly and welcoming person with an optimistic nature. I like being in the company of family/friends yet know when to unwind with some quality 'me time's. My interactions are based on mutual trust and respect. My current forte is non-fiction and includes multicultural experiences and diverse literature with an eye to fiction and short stories. I plan on continuing my journey of authorship for the foreseeable future. My family consists of accomplished individuals. My father now retired is a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from USA where he worked for twenty years for AT&T's Bell Laboratories before returning home to take care of ageing parents, family properties and investments. My dearly departed mother held a B.Sc.(Zoology) and was a homemaker. My grandfather was a senior-level civil engineer in the military and then in the railways since the pre-war British era. My grandmother, in the lineage of the great Marathi poet 'Keshavsoot,' was herself an acclaimed Marathi author and a storyteller who wrote regularly for magazines and anthologies.
