Shruti contacted me when she saw that I was born in Zambia in my Shaadi profile. We were both born and brought up in Africa, and were never quite able to connect with others we met because we had different outlooks on life, so Shruti thought of searching for other African desis, and luckily for me she chose my profile to reply to :) Once we started chatting, first on Shaadi, then by email and phone, we realized we had a lot in common and had similar interests, both like outdoor activities and good food, both are the youngest in our families, and both left home to study abroad at a young age. Once we met we both fell for each other, and I knew I had met the love of my life. 5 months after we met, Shruti was going to Delhi for a family get together, and by chance, my company sent me to India at the same time. That\'s when I met her family, and we had our engagement, and 8 months later we got married in Delhi. Since then, we have settled in California, and have never been happier.
